While relaxing in the living room, you can watch the wide screen HDTV... or surf the Internet from anywhere in the house on the wireless network. The house has central heat and air, and in the Hyatt there is an electric flame log fireplace for chilly evenings. Outside, both units feature a patio with umbrellaed table, chairs, and a gas grill.

The Choo-Choo House has two levels, the Choo Choo Hyatt (upstairs) and the Choo Choo Caboose (downstairs). They are available separately or together; there's an interior stairway that can be closed to separate your group into two sections if you like or opened for full “run of the house”. Each level features 2 bedrooms and 1 bath and can sleep six (eight if you use the futons).

The Choo-Choo House sleeps 10-14, is NOT pet friendly, and is available year round.

The Choo Choo House is a two-minute walk from the Great Smoky Mountains Railway depot. You can take the train on a half day tour to the Nantahala Gorge or spend a full day out on a Raft n' Rail combo trip that adds whitewater rafting on the Nantahala River without ever having to use your car! If you are planning a holiday visit, the Polar Express is just a short stroll in your PJs. For the rest of your stay, the downtown restaurants, shops, and railroad museum of the quaint town of Bryson City are just as close.

When you want to venture out, just head up the adjacent “Road to Nowhere” about 2 miles and you will be in the wilderness of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Or you can head to the park's Deep Creek campground for tubing and a picnic or short hikes to waterfalls. Also nearby are fishing areas on the Tuckasegee River or local trout ponds. For more outdoor activities, you are near the beauty of the Appalachian Trail and the native town of Cherokee, where you can visit the museums, native shops and the outdoor drama “Unto These Hills.”

This charming brick house was built in 1955

and just recently updated. We took care to

retain some of the 50's flavor, add a

railroad theme, and  a sprinkle of antique furniture.

You will find an updated but still classic full kitchen with stove, microwave and refrigerator with ice maker and a comfortable dining room.
